Grand Cypress Bayou at Parc Des Familles
Experience one of Louisiana’s premier disc golf destinations and home of the DGPT Big Easy Open. Nestled within the scenic cypress swamps of Marrero, this par 65 course offers a unique blend of natural beauty and competitive challenge for players of all skill levels. Designed by John Houck, this course is free and open to the public during regular park hours.

18 championship holes with multiple tee pad options to accommodate various arm speeds.
Terrain
Conquer a 2.7-mile expedition across our fast, flat land.
Difficulty Level
Advanced to Professional. Known as one of the most challenging courses in Louisiana.
Notable Features
Signature water carries, professional-grade baskets, and dedicated concrete tee pads.
Safety Rules
- No drinking water or restrooms along course. Water and restrooms available in the main park facility at visitor center and between pavilions 1 & 2.
- Always check for other park users before throwing.
- Never throw if people or animals are within range of your target.
- Be aware of your surroundings, especially on holes near walking paths and mountain bike trail.
- Wear appropriate footwear for uneven, swampy terrain.
- Avoid throwing during lightning or high-wind advisories.
Etiquette
- Pack it in, pack it out—keep our course clean.
- Let faster or smaller groups play through.
- Keep noise levels low to respect other park visitors and wildlife.
- Mark your discs with your name and phone number.
- Avoid bending or breaking tree limbs and park vegetation.

Location & Access
Directions
Located inside Parc Des Familles in Marrero, Louisiana. Enter at south gate, and Hole 1 is currently located near park visitor center.
Parking Info
Convenient free parking is located throughout the park.
Accessibility
The main path near the parking lot is paved, but most of course is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility.
